Professional Affiliations

  • Land Surveyors’ Association of Washington is a professional organization representing over 1500 individuals practicing in various surveying disciplines. LSAW provides a means to keep its members informed of changes in laws, regulations, and rapidly changing technology. They work together to protect the principles and practices upon which surveying was founded.

  • The Building Industry Association of Whatcom County Building Industry Association of Whatcom County is a private, non-profit trade organization of builders, remodelers, and other home building and construction related businesses. Founded in Bellingham in 1978, BIAWC serves the interests of our industry in governmental affairs, professional development, social and networking opportunities, and community service.

  • The Hydrographic Society of America is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to promoting education in hydrography, inshore surveying, inland waters surveying, offshore surveying, positioning and mapping/charting, including related earth sciences.

  • The National Society of Professional Surveyors monitors and comments on legislation, regulation, & policies that potentially impact its members' and clients' activities. It collaborates with many other organizations within the geospatial community on issues of mutual interest.

  • The Western Federation of Professional Surveyors is a regional non-profit organization composed of Land Surveyor associations representing the 13 western states. WFPS is dedicated to education, fostering common goals within the Western states, and providing a regional voice at the national level.

  • The International Federation of Surveyors is a federation of national member associations and covers the whole range of professional fields within the global surveying, geomatics, geodesy, and geo-information community. It provides an international forum for discussion and development aiming to promote professional practice and standards.

  • The American Association for Geodetic Surveying aims to lead the community of geodetic, surveying, and land information data users. AAGS provides educational programs, including presentations, seminars, and workshops on topics related to geodetic surveying and articles and papers that inform the membership of the latest scientific and technological developments and how to implement them in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
